Description This programme proposes an in-depth reflection on the importance of geoconservation as an essential component of environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development. In line with the contents of the theme ‘Sustainability on Earth’, students will analyse the scientific, educational, ecological and cultural value of the geological heritage present in the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark. They discuss the main factors threatening geodiversity and strategies for conservation and sustainable management of the territory, with an emphasis on the role of geoparks in protecting and enhancing natural resources. An activity that promotes critical thinking, active citizenship and the understanding that preserving the geological past is fundamental to guaranteeing the future of the planet.
