Description This programme explores how geological resources influence the daily lives of human societies, promoting a critical analysis of their origin, use and sustainable management. Through the observation of local examples in the territory of the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark, students will study in depth the geological processes responsible for the formation of mineral, energy and water resources, and assess the social, economic and environmental impacts of their exploitation. In conjunction with the Biology and Geology programme, this activity allows them to consolidate content such as the genesis of mineral deposits, exploration criteria and the concept of resource versus reserve. An opportunity to understand how geology is present in the decisions of the present and the challenges of the future.
