Description: The Geological Route is a journey through time and the structure of the Earth, conducted in the terrain of the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark. This programme invites secondary school students to interpret different geosites, identifying igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, geological structures and processes that have marked the evolution of the territory. Along the way, participants apply knowledge acquired in the Biology and Geology subject, analysing the relationship between the Earth's materials, formation environments and geological cycles. The activity promotes an understanding of the geological space as a natural record of the planet's history and as an educational and scientific resource of exceptional value. An experience that combines observation, research and raising awareness of the importance of geological heritage.
