Duration: 5h
Description This programme allows secondary school students to understand the importance of geological resources in the history and development of human communities, based on the concrete example of the old Minas de Murçós. As part of the theme ‘Geology, Problems and Everyday Materials’, the programme covers the geological processes that give rise to mineral concentrations (deposits), prospecting and mining techniques and the associated environmental impacts. The visit to the site is complemented by the experiences of the people who worked there, promoting critical reflection on the relationship between natural resources, economic development and sustainability. A programme that combines science, heritage and collective memory.
