EDUCATION | 55. SEDIMENTS AND SEDIMENTARY ROCKS

Duration: 4.5h

Description This programme offers secondary school students a detailed analysis of the processes of sediment formation, transport and deposition, as well as their transformation into sedimentary rocks. Through the critical observation of outcrops and samples, the interpretation of sedimentary structures and the study of depositional environments, participants delve into fundamental concepts of sedimentology and stratigraphy. The programme provides an understanding of the importance of sedimentary rocks as witnesses of past environments and as reservoirs of essential natural resources. A scientific approach that prepares students for higher studies in geosciences and related fields.
