The O Saldanha restaurant in Macedo de Cavaleiros is a pleasant space, completely decorated with utensils and objects from the past, most of which are part of the history of the family that owns the restaurant. Under the same management since 1963, the restaurant has been committed to cooking regional dishes from the start, with the highlights being the Saldanha steak, veal cutlet and roast kid, which is only made to order. The João-style codfish is already legendary. For dessert, there are homemade cherry, pear and peach jams, as well as custard.
