WHERE TO EAT | 31. CONVENTO DE BALSAMÃO

The Balsamão Convent belongs to the Congregation of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. Situated on top of a hill, it is now also a place of hospitality. A place of infinity, like the unique starry sky that can be seen from there.
The restaurant allows you to sit down at a table for a journey into the world of time-honored flavors.
The whole surrounding area invites you to discover silences and sounds, tones and colors, spaces and places of true contemplation. A place where nature and spirituality, in reciprocal dialog, transport us to other worlds, almost as simply as opening a window.
The menu is essentially from Trás-os-Montes, and the cuisine is supplied by local products that guarantee the best ingredients at every time of year. The restaurant serves a wide range of typical Trás-os-Montes delicacies, including Cabrito “Transmontano”, the excellent Posta de Vitela, as well as the region's best smoked meats (alheira, linguiça, presunto and butelo).
