Duration: 7h
Description This programme is designed to help deepen the content of the Biology and Geology subject, taking a practical and contextualised approach to the Earth's internal structure. Using indirect study methods - such as analysing seismic waves and gravimetric and magnetic data - students explore the division of the Earth into different layers (crust, mantle and core) and their respective materials and properties. Energy transfer processes are also analysed, such as mantle convection, which is fundamental to explaining the mobility of the lithosphere and the dynamics associated with plate tectonics. This programme allows students to consolidate their knowledge of internal geodynamics, combining theory and observation in a real setting in the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark.
