ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE | 03. ROMANESQUE BRIDGE IN CERNADELA

A bridge built in the modern period, over a probable medieval pre-existence, with a trestle over two unequal round arches. The smaller arch closes with a lintel.
Trestle bridge over two unequal arches. The larger, central one is perfectly round. The much smaller side arch, with its raised base and lintel closure, allows the stream to pass through in the event of a flood. The base of the larger arch is reinforced. Mixed granite and schist blocks. The staves are wider than they are long, with a regular extrados. Granite masonry guards.
