RELIGIOUS HERITAGE | 62. CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION

An 18th-century Baroque and Rococo temple with a nave, chancel and sacristy. Inside, it has a high choir and rococo gilded altarpieces in the nave.
The portal of Ferreira's parish church bears the date 1751. The architectural structure consists of a single nave, chancel and sacristy. The round triumphal arch, which separates the nave from the chancel, is completely covered in carvings, with Rococo-style side altars and sixteen coffered windows depicting the apostolate. The gilded altarpiece from the Johannine period incorporates two side corbels with earlier paintings: St. Peter and St. Paul.
