Macmel is a company that makes people aware of the health and beauty/cosmetic benefits of honey and hive products. Following its passion for bees, Macmel produces honey in various locations in the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark, from the flora characteristic of each area. In an environment where nature remains intact, the bees work the high quality raw material, the nectars/pollen, of the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark, producing extremely high quality honey, Macmel created the Honey and Beekeeping Museum in 2012, a space made up of two strands. One is to provide information about beekeeping, bees, hive products, health benefits, etc. The other is a living museum, where people can watch the bees at work through a glass or, for the more adventurous, put on a protective suit and go and see the bees up close.
