This geosite is located on the western flank of the Serra de Bornes and allows us to observe the indicators of the movement of the Vilariça fault and its relationship with the uplift of the mountain in a push-up model. The fault breccia stands out, made up of blocks of granite, quartz and pebbles. The fault separates the granite of the Serra de Bornes and the shales of the margins of the ancient continent of Gondwana. On the access road, on a viaduct over the IP2, you can also see the Macedo de Cavaleiros depression, also controlled by the Vilariça Fault.
