This geosite shows an important discontinuity between the ocellated gneisses of the Armorican continent and the amphibolites of the ancient Galicia Trás-os-Montes ocean. The observation of these rocks and this discontinuity is fundamental for reconstructing the process of closing the Galicia Trás-os-Montes Ocean and the consequent stacking of various parts of the oceanic and continental crusts on the indigenous rocks of the passive margin.
