RELIGIOUS HERITAGE | 82. CHURCH OF ST. EUGENIA

In the parish of Ala stands the Mother Church dedicated to Saint Eugénia, dating from 1830. In the chancel of the church is a baroque altarpiece with depictions of Calvary, the Virgin St. John the Evangelist, Christ crucified, Christ tied to the Column and on the Way to Calvary. The remaining tablet that incorporates the altarpiece of the high altar, which represents Saint Catherine with the palm of martyrdom, holds a crucifix with the figure of Christ and is accompanied by his attribute (wheel), dating from the 17th century.
