RELIGIOUS HERITAGE: FROM THE IMMATERIAL TO THE MATERIAL
The church in Gradíssimo has simple architecture, but the carved altarpieces break up the coldness and austerity of the exterior.
It has two floors and is very simple in its rectangular architectural form. It has a single nave, with two altarpieces on either side of the arch. The entire nave is illuminated by two windows set into and opening onto the two side walls. Of particular note is the high altar altarpiece in rocaille carving, the work of António de Sousa, from Quintela, in 1783. It is a carved altarpiece from the third period of the Joanine Baroque.
