The church in Talhinhas dates back to the early 18th century, although it was enlarged in the 19th and 20th centuries. The façades are made of masonry, plastered and painted white, with granite window frames and portals, as well as the bell tower.
Inside the church, the baptismal font stands out, dating from 1606, in granite and with simple decoration. In the nave there are two altarpieces dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady of the Rosary, in gilded woodcarving, decorated with plant, animal and putti motifs, and the attic altarpieces are painted with the five wounds, the one on the right, and the dove of the Holy Spirit, the one on the left.
The ceiling of the chancel is covered in coffered ceilings with scenes from the life of Christ, the Virgin and the Evangelists. The main altarpiece, in gilded and polychrome wood carving, has a round-arched tribune with a panel painted with cherubs and a sculpture of Our Lady of the Assumption.
