In the vicinity of the village of Vila Nova da Rainha there is a coarse to medium grained granite, porphyry with two micas. This geosite, which stands out for its educational value, allows us to contemplate some aspects associated with granite morphology, such as the formation of granite balls at depth. The granite balls on the surface show a well-defined fracture network and exfoliation processes. It should be emphasised that the morphology of this geosite contributes to its aesthetic value.
