From the southwestern slope of the Serra de Bornes, the Vilariça Fault can be seen in the relief of the southern sector of the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark territory. The village of Burga is located at the bottom of the straight valley of the Burga stream, protected by steep escarpments caused by the recent movement of the Vilariça Fault.
