NATURAL PATRIMONY | 03. RIOS SABOR E MAÇÃS SITE

The Rios Sabor e Maçãs site (PTCON0021) is part of the Natura 2000 Network and covers stretches of the Sabor and Maçãs rivers in north-eastern Portugal. This area stands out for its rich riparian ecosystems and is home to protected species such as the otter, the saramugo, the water mole and various aquatic birds.
Its well-preserved watercourses, surrounded by natural vegetation, are essential for regional biodiversity. In addition to its ecological value, the site plays an important role in the conservation of water resources and the environmental valorisation of the territory.
