The Morais site (PTCON0023), part of the Natura 2000 network, is located in the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros and is recognised for its geodiversity and biological richness. The area includes the Morais Ophiolitic Complex, one of the most important geological formations in Europe, and unique habitats that are home to rare species of flora and fauna.
It is an area of great ecological and scientific value, where Mediterranean and Atlantic characteristics meet, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity and knowledge of the territory's geological history.
