The Church of São Pedro is the result of various interventions over the years, with the aim of updating the architectural models and redefining the sacred space. Inside, the church's four chapels stand out, where the Baroque forms in the carving and imagery are dominant.
The Chapel of Souls, from the first half of the 18th century, depicts Hell, Purgatory and Paradise in medium and high reliefs. The side panels have a hagiological theme.
The Chapel of the Holy Family, also known as the Baptistery Chapel, is vaulted, with an altarpiece from the second half of the 17th century.
The altarpiece in the chancel dates from the first half of the 18th century, in gilded and polychrome woodcarving in the national style.
The Chapel of the Passion Steps, located on the left side of the nave, has a gilded and polychrome carved altarpiece from the second half of the 17th century. The islets include full-length images of Jesus before the Crucifixion.
