MUSEUMS | 09. THE HONEY AND BEEKEEPING MUSEUM

The Honey and Beekeeping Museum has two parts: the Antiques Museum and the Living Museum. It is the first museum linked to honey and beekeeping in Portugal. In the Antiques Museum you can see the tools used by beekeepers in the past, learn about all the products produced by the hives, taste up to 5 different types of honey and see how this ancient activity has evolved. At the Living Museum, visitors can come into contact with the bees in the safety of their own hands and see how they work outside or in a glass hive. The bravest, equipped with an appropriate suit, are challenged to see the bees up close. The various types of apiaries and hives are also on display.
