MUSEUMS | 06. BALSAMÃO RELIGIOUS MUSEUM

The museum is located in the Balsamão Convent, where it has a very rich collection of ex-votos, 16 canvases by António Joaquim Padrão, vestments and implements of worship. The museum was inaugurated by the Superior of the Congregation of the Marians, Father João Rokosz, MIC, on 24 October 2005, at the celebrationThe Convent of Balsamão is a famous and ancient temple built on the headland of Caramouro or Balsamão, next to the river Azibo and the Ribeira da Veiga de Chacim. The Church of Our Lady of Balsamão has works by the painter Bustamante Sá, particularly the ceiling depicting the 250th anniversary of the death of the Venerable Friar Casimiro.
