The place where different generations of Macedonians began their studies over the decades is now an archaeological museum. The Trinta Primary School now boasts more than 5,000 years of history, thanks to the various archaeological pieces gathered in two chronological areas.
The patron of the new museum is Colonel Albino Pereira Lopo (1860-1933). He is considered one of the pioneers of archaeology, recognised throughout the country and with a large body of work in the region. He was responsible for Bragança's first monograph and was also the creator of the city's Municipal Museum, now the Abade de Baçal Museum. History would ignore the importance of this man who became a Macedonian by marriage in Lamalonga.
A place where visitors have to use all their senses. The ambience created was intended to be as close as possible to the spaces where the archaeological sites excavated and represented here were originally located. The habitat areas created, a Bronze Age hut and a Romanised habitat, recreated from the structures excavated at Fraga dos Corvos and the archaeological sites of Cramanchão and Terronha de Pinhovelo, were made using original/natural materials collected almost entirely from the aforementioned archaeological sites, especially perishable materials such as stone, wood, thatch, earth, etc. The aim was to recreate in detail the lives of the local people, the first settlers in the geographical area that is now the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros.
