The Montesinho/Nogueira site (PTCON0002) is part of the Natura 2000 Network and is located in the north-east of Portugal, covering areas in the municipalities of Bragança, Vinhais and Macedo de Cavaleiros. It is an area of great ecological importance, with a great diversity of habitats and protected species, such as the Iberian wolf, the otter and various birds and bats.
