ARCHAEOLOGICAL HERITAGE | 04. FRAGA DOS CORVOS

Fraga dos Corvos is an archaeological site located on a hill in the Serra de Bornes with visual control of the landscape. This is a site with at least two major phases of occupation - an open-air settlement from the Middle Bronze Age and an occupation with a sloping wall in the transition from the Late Bronze Age to the Iron Age. The first occupation is characterized by the preparation of the land for housing structures and, in the following phases, the construction of huts and an area for the production of bronze artifacts, of which some support structures (hearth and “sandbox”) have been identified. The second major occupation reveals the expansion of the settlement, now occupying the entire hill and delimited by the construction of an artificial slope covered in stone.
