ARCHAEOLOGICAL HERITAGE | 03. POVOADO ROMANO DA TERRONHA DE PINHOVELO

The village, built on a hill and with a wide view of the Macedo de Cavaleiros basin, has more than one occupation, the oldest being from the Iron Age and the two following from the Roman period. In this last period, compartments with a rectilinear plan and a wide range of findings were identified: fragments of common pottery, fragments of Terra Sigilata, roof tiles, decorative objects both in bronze (fibulae) and glass (cameo), seal boxes... The Terronha de Pinhovelo archaeological site has been classified as a Site of Public Interest. (Caderno Terras Quentes 14)
