The Royal Spinning Mill of Chacim is an industrial heritage site of great historical and cultural value. It is not possible to talk about the history of industry in Trás-os-Montes without mentioning the Chacim Silk Factory and the Arnaud family.
The Chacim Spinning Mill is thus the monument that brings to life the memory of the silk industry, amidst the abandonment of old methods for more modern methods that were practiced in Europe, and the attempt to promote industry.
Since 2023, the Royal Spinning Mill of Chacim has been a partner of the Portuguese Industrial Tourism Network.
