Archaeology in Terras Cavaleiros Geopark plays an essential role in understanding the history and heritage of the region. We have found traces of human presence from the Neolithic period to the present day. As we move through each subsequent period, we discover temporary and permanent settlements, mining complexes, stone tools, decorated ceramics, horse-shaped pendants, bronze utensils, iron daggers, votive altars and much more.

The municipality does not limit itself to preserving the archaeological heritage but encourages its dissemination, whether through the Municipal Museum of Archaeology or educational programs.
